This is a live performance by the shakuhachi and piano unit "Umigame", composed of shakuhachi player: Jun Watanabe and composer/pianist: Kenji Kanemasu.
From Japanese and foreign folk songs, tango and Latin to originals and solos, this free and solo duo will deliver a space like a world trip of sound, like a sea turtle swimming leisurely in the sea or a bird flying majestically in the sky. Another reason is that the two members are as gentle as "sea turtles". However, the performance is not just "gentle".
By the way, the first piece I performed was Astor Piazzolla's "Escuaro" at the Tokyo National Museum Heiseikan. (March 2009)
